Is John G. Miller, author of QBQ! and Flipping the Switch, a Christian?
When speaking to organizations across the country, John is often approached by individuals who tentatively ask, “Are you a Christian?” The answer is yes! John Miller grew up in a Christian home in Ithaca, New York. His father was a pastor for 40 years (as well as the Cornell University wrestling coach!). John’s sister is married to an Evangelical Covenant pastor in Ohio, and John’s daughter, Kristin, who works for QBQ, Inc. speaking and training on QBQ!, is married to Erik, a pastor in the Christian Church denomination. John, his wife Karen, and their younger still-at-home children now attend Crossroads Community Church in north Denver, CO. Karen has served extensively in the MOPS (Mothers of Pre-Schoolers) ministry.
Does John speak to Christian organizations?
Though his ministry originated in the corporate world, John is increasingly being invited to share the message of Personal Accountability and the QBQ! in the church world. John has had the privilege of speaking for Joni and Friends, the Denver Rescue Mission, CareNet (a pro-life counseling organization) Northwestern College in St. Paul, MN, Church for All Nations in Colorado Springs, Dave Ramsey’s Pastor Conference in Nashville, TN, and Colorado Christian University of Lakewood, CO.
Are the QBQ! and Flipping the Switch books based on Biblical principles?
Yes! In Romans, Paul calls believers to “be transformed by the renewing of your minds” (Romans 12:1-2). The QBQ! is a practical tool that helps Christians eliminate victim thinking, procrastination and blame, and focus instead on personal transformation. When we experience true transformation by practicing personal accountability, moms and dads, friends and colleagues, employees and executives and pastors and their people all grow in the Lord. And when that happens, we are all richer for it.
Why don’t the books contain any specific scriptural references?
Since QBQ! was created by John in 1994, our primary market has been the corporate world. The QBQ! message would not be able to reach as far as it does if Scripture was published within the book, as corporate executives would often shy away from bringing in overtly Bible-based material. We believe, and have found it to be true, that the Biblical principles come through loud and clear - even without specific scriptural references.
